Download and Development

Under development

Saving Wallden is still under development. While in development, many of the game play features detailed on this site might not be implemented yet and are subject to change.

Required and Optional Software

  • The following software is REQUIRED to run Saving Wallden:
    • Visual Pinball X, version 10.8 beta or higher
  • The following software is OPTIONAL to run Saving Wallden:
    • FlexDMD version 1.9.1 or higher
    • B2S Server

It is recommended to use the PinUp Popper Baller Installer to install all common Virtual Pinball software. This will also install PinUp and FlexDMD, which enables more support for DMDs / displays in Wallden especially for cabinets. If you use the baller installer, you must separately obtain VPX 10.8 beta from https://github.com/vpinball/vpinball/releases .

Download

You can download the latest version 0.3 alpha at Virual Pinball Universe:

Development - Wanted / Needed

At this time, the following is particularly wanted / needed for development towards Saving Wallden. Please contact me via a forum or support tickets on the "Support" page if interested in contributing. You will be listed as a contributor as a reward.

  • Voice actor for the russian royal trainer
  • Artwork / 3D toys for the table
  • Table work to massively improve its quality: minor tweaks to the layout, better graphics / rendering (perhaps a toolkit makeover / bake maps)
  • Debugging nFozzy physics. They do not seem to be working correctly for the flippers (too bouncy, too hard to live-catch, post-pass, or cradle-catch), and I have no idea why.

Semantic Versioning

In Wallden, I use a modified version semantic versioning, which works as follows:

major.minor.patch tag

Where:

  • major versions introduce fundamental / foundational changes to the table and game play (major version will remain 0 until initial development is complete). Each time this happens, the major version is increased by 1.
  • minor versions introduce new or updated game play features, components, or graphics / art / assets. Each time this happens, the minor version is increased by 1.
  • patch versions introduce either bug fixes or incremental progress towards the next minor version. Each time this happens, the patch version is increased by 1.
  • tag is "alpha" during development, "beta" during the testing phase, and no tag when fully released / stable (I do not use release candidates)

Version numbers do not represent progress amount towards completion. And a major, minor, or patch number can go above 9.

Development Progress / Roadmap
