Quick status report

Hello everyone,

A quick status report. Back in November, my financial situation took a nose-dive. As such, I initially was planning to scrap this project as it was taking too much of my time to develop and estimated to take up to 10 more years to finish at my pace. After some discussion with members on VP Universe, I decided not to scrap the project, but to put it on hold for now and re-evaluate how I approach it. Here are my current plans:

  • There will probably not be any new development until early / mid 2024. My top priority right now is to work more and get my finances in order.
  • When I return, I may be significantly scaling back my original goals. For example, I lost the PUP pack in a bad file transfer. So I figured that is a sign; the PUP pack was taking up a good portion of development time. So I will probably omit having a PUP pack for now. The JP DMD and Flex DMD should suffice for the time being. And the PUP pack can come later. Prior to taking a leave, I've been exploring alternative ways to integrate Scorbit which don't require PinUp.
  • There is still no guarantee, and never will be, that the project will be completed all the way through. And my available time will still be very limited, meaning this could still take many years. Furthermore, it is likely there will be multiple instances where I must put the project on hold for months at a time. That's life, unfortunately. I am not blessed with a strong financial safety net / high income.
  • What I do develop from now on will be made available for download so others can try the table WIP, provide feedback, and if desired, contribute towards its development. Version 0.2.8-alpha is up. When I decided to take a leave, I was on 0.2.9-alpha, but unfortunately that version was also lost to the bad file transfer. But I still had a copy of 0.2.8-alpha. I will have to redo 0.2.9-alpha when I return.
