Potion Motion Mini-Wizard

Despite this only being a mini-wizard, it is a very critical one. Your performance in this mini-wizard will greatly affect the likelihood you succeed in the Final Boss Battle.

Potion Motion does not particularly score high like other wizards. This is because your main reward is HP / health, not points. And in fact, the "Mini-Wizard total" is presented to you in the form of the amount of health you collected instead of the points you earned.

After completing the 7 primary objectives, the scoop flashes green for the Potion Motion wizard mode.

you realize that the amount of health you will need to survive the boss far exceeds the health you have.

In an attempt to get much more health, you first drink a potion you made using ingredients you found on your journey while completing your objectives (this gives you the HP you earned for the "After Objective Completion" extra progress).

Then, to further increase your HP, you brew potions using exotic ingredients found around the shack in which you are brewing them.

  • 5-ball multiball with unlimited ballsave. The amount of initial time on the clock depends on your selected game difficulty:
    • Zen and easy: 90 seconds
    • Normal: 75 seconds
    • Hard and Impossible: 60 seconds
  • The ramps, orbits, horseshoe, and captive ball are flashing, representing ingredients for the potion.
  • Shoot a flashing shot to grab the ingredient for the potion (and score 2,500,000 points).
  • After grabbing all 7 ingredients, the right scoop flashes green. Shoot it to drink the potion for the Potion Motion jackpot, which is 50 HP, 10,000,000 points, and an additional 45 seconds in the Wizard mode (time maxes out at 100 seconds).
Potion Motion ends when the time runs out; flippers freeze and drain the balls.

Collaborative Play

In collaborative play, the Potion Motion Wizard will split the earned HP across all players instead of awarding it all to one player. For example, if 50 HP total was earned for a game with 3 players, then each player will get 16 HP (since 2 HP remain after rounding down, the 2 players with the lowest HP will get another 1 HP).

Zen Difficulty

It may seem like Potion Motion is a useless mini-wizard when playing in Zen mode since you have "unlimited" health. However, remember that in Zen, the amount of HP damage you take is secretly tracked for an end-of-game penalty. Potion Motion helps you undo some or all of the damage you took and may even provide you with HP to spare. This will especially be helpful since you will likely take a lot of damage in the Final Boss. This is why Potion Motion is still played / activated in Zen difficulty.
