Repent Final Wizard

SPOILER ALERT!

This final wizard mode is meant to be a secret wizard mode that players have no knowledge of until they achieve it. If you do not like secret game play being spoiled to you, please leave this page immediately.

SPOILER WARNING

The "Repent" Final Wizard is achieved from the Heart of Evil judgment when having finished the 8 primary objectives in red (kill) state, or when having killed everyone but the Blacksmith but the Blacksmith fled (purple state). However, you did not complete all the requirements for the Black Heart judgment.

In repent, it is revealed that the Final Boss all along wasn't the final boss you fought, but rather it was you. And now, Lovinity, the Archangel of Love (and the most powerful being in Wallden), will be fighting the final boss (aka. you) to protect all of Wallden from your cursed and wicked soul. This battle is extremely difficult with a very high failure rate since Celestial beings like Lovinity are very powerful (and because you probably took a lot of damage fighting the final boss). Only those who truly have a desire to repent for their sins will succeed in this wizard mode.

Inspiration: Alien Invasion in The Simpsons Pinball Party.

The 5 Levels of Repent

Repent is a 5-level wizard mode. You start on level 1 with 20 seconds of ball shield and only one ball in play. Each time you complete the objectives in a level, you move up to the next level, you get 20 seconds of ball shield, and another ball is added into play. Each time you lose a ball, you drop a level, and Lovinity deals drain damage towards you (if all the other balls are already locked, one will be released which will need re-locking to get back up in level). If you lose your only ball in level 1, your soul falls apart and you die / the game is over. If you fall down to 1 HP remaining (you cannot immediately die; if you would have otherwise dropped below 1 HP, you will have 1 HP), then Lovinity tries sparing you (see below). Only once you reach level 5, and only when you maintain level 5, can you deal damage towards Lovinity who has 999 HP.

  • Level 1: One ball in play. Scoop is lit for lock. Lock the ball to move to the next level.
  • Level 2: Two balls in play. Scoop and left orbit is lit for lock. Lock both balls to move to the next level.
  • Level 3: Three balls in play. Hole is lit. Get one ball in the hole to then light the scoop and left orbit for lock. Lock the remaining 2 balls to move to the next level.
  • Level 4: Four balls in play. Hole is lit. Get two balls in the hole to then light the scoop and left orbit for lock. Lock the remaining 2 balls to move to the next level.
  • Level 5: Five balls in play. So long as you maintain all 5 balls in play, the crossbow's center standup is lit. Hit the center standup to hit Lovinity with an arrow, dealing 50 HP damage towards her and scoring 50,000,000 points.
    • The scoop and left orbit locks are lit. You can lock a ball for 10 seconds. When a ball is locked in the left orbit, the left standup in the crossbow is also lit. And when a ball is locked in the right scoop, the right standup is also lit.

Lovinity's Attacks

Be very careful! Lovinity will periodically send a barrage of attacks to make things more difficult, such as table shakes, post drops raising and falling, electromagnets activating, blinding flashers, loud and piercing noises, flipper glitches, etc.

Repent For Your Sins

You can also repent for your sins on any level to those whom you killed during the wizard mode. To do so, you need to light all of the lettered lights on the playfield: TRAIN, ESCAPE, VIKING, SNIPER, CHASER, BLACKSMITH, and DRAGON. Then, to repent for the FINAL BOSS, you need to shoot, in sequential order, left ramp (F), left orbit (I), crossbow (N), hole (A), left horseshoe (L), right ramp (B), right horseshoe (O), right orbit (S), and scoop (S).

When you repent, Lovinity goes easier on you. Your drain damage value is reduced by 5 HP, you are given 60 seconds of ball shield, and you score 100,000,000 points. The process must be repeated after that to repent again.

Satan's Aid

Satan likes what you are doing. Therefore, he will provide you aid in your battle against Lovinity. As such, the +HP drop targets will provide 3 HP healing instead of 1 HP during the wizard mode.

Power-ups

Remember that you can deploy power-ups during the wizard mode.  When you do, you get 20 HP and a 20-second ball shield.

 The Final HP (Lovinity's Spare)

Once you are down to your last HP, the game freezes and drains the balls. Lovinity no longer views you as a big enough threat to warrant defensive violence as you are now very weak. Therefore, she offers to spare you out of the kindness of her heart if you promise to repent. You are given the choice to accept it or reject it.

Accept - The Final Repent

If you accept, Lovinity stops her attack on you. However, you are required to finish your current progress towards repenting before the wizard mode ends. You are given unlimited ball save with no time limit. The game will essentially keep going until you repent. Once you repent, you are awarded 100,000,000 points, and the wizard mode ends. While Wallden is not saved, and everyone you killed is still dead, Lovinity is satisfied that you are on the right track to reformation. Satan closes out the game by taunting you for selling yourself out to a pitiful Love Angel like her and challenges you to "finish the job" the next time around.

 Reject - The Final Assault

If you decline her spare, then you enter The Final Assault. You jump immediately to level 5 with a 20-second ball shield (if you do not already have at least 20 seconds). This is your last chance to defeat Lovinity before she kills you off for good. Note, however, that you can no longer heal from the drop targets nor can you repent. Lovinity has taken those options away from you as punishment for rejecting her offer.

Defeating Lovinity

If you manage to defeat Lovinity, then you are awarded a bonus 500,000,000 points. However, by killing off a Celestial being, a supernova effect occurs from her death which causes the complete and total destruction of Wallden. Was it really worth it?

Collaborative Play

In collaborative play, each time a player dies, the table drains the balls and prompts the next player to take over on the previous level. On the last player remaining, Lovinity offers her 1 HP spare feature.
